English Opening: Halibut Gambit
[edit | edit source]The Halibut gambit is a wing gambit. Black sacrifices a pawn on b5 to move white's central pawn to the outermost flank, while also helping black develop his pieces after 3.bxa6 with either then 3...Bxa6, 3...Nxa6, or even 3...e5 ignoring the pawn like in the Benko Gambit and grabbing space in the center.
