4. dxe4, the most common move, leads to a queen trade and an even position after 4...Qxd1+ 5. Kxd1.
White's other option is 4. Ng5!?. This is a sharp line where White sacrifices a pawn. After 4...exd3 5. Bd3 White gets compensation with a lead in development. White has the possibility of attacks on f7 or h7, and it is easy for Black to misstep.
