[edit | edit source]

Black plays the worst conceivable response to the worst opening from White, serving to show that they, too, are "in" on the joke.

It appeared in a famous game between Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura in 2021, where 1. e4 e5 2. Ke2? Ke7? 3. Ke1 Ke8 4. Ke2? Ke7? 5. Ke1 Ke8 6. Ke2? Ke7? ½-½ was used to make a quick draw by repetition.[1][2]
